Air Logbook Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Air Logbook (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in version 1.0 of the App. Air Logbook is designed as a personal flight logbook. In version 1.0, the App works locally on your device and does not include flight notifications, boarding pass scanning, account login, advertising, analytics, tracking, or network-based flight lookup.

Information Stored on Your Device

Air Logbook may store the following information locally on your device:

Flight records, such as flight number, airline, aircraft type, aircraft registration, route, airport codes, flight dates and times, terminals, gates, baggage belt, runway information, duration, seat, cabin class, trip type, rating, notes, and attached photos.
Imported CSV data that you choose to import.
Pilot profile information that you choose to enter, such as name, nationality, and avatar.
App settings, such as display preferences, units, import/export settings, and other local preferences.

This information is stored using Apple-provided local storage technologies such as SwiftData, UserDefaults, and the app documents directory. We do not operate a user account system for Air Logbook.

Device Permissions

Air Logbook may ask for permission to use certain device features:

Photos: used when you choose a profile avatar, attach a photo, or save a generated sharing image to your photo library.
Files: used when you choose a CSV file to import or export your flight log.

You can manage App permissions in iOS Settings.

No Network Data Collection

Air Logbook does not include any networking features. The App does not send your flight records, profile information, photos, settings, imported files, or usage activity to our servers or to third-party services.

The App does not use flight data APIs, image download services, analytics services, crash reporting services, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.

Feedback Email

If you choose to contact us by email outside the App, we receive the email address, message content, and any information you choose to include. We use this information only to respond to you and improve the App.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

Air Logbook does not include advertising SDKs, does not use the iOS advertising identifier, and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not sell your personal information.

The App does not use third-party analytics or crash reporting SDKs.

We do not share your personal flight log with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or flight data providers. Data may be shared only if you choose to export it, share it, save it outside the App, or contact us by email.

Data Retention and Deletion

Information stored locally remains on your device until you delete it in the App, export it, reset the App data, or delete the App from your device.

Photos, exported CSV files, and shared images that you save outside the App are controlled by you and by the destination app or service.

Security

We use Apple platform security features where available, and local app data is protected by iOS device security. No method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Air Logbook is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If future versions add networking, flight lookup, scanning, notifications, account features, analytics, or other data practices, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information as required.
